COVID Update

Hopefully, after two and a half years of various interruptions to our normal way of life due to the COVID pandemic, we are nearly approaching the light at the end of the tunnel. As mentioned in various media outlets during the holidays, from tomorrow, Friday 14th October, the mandate for five days of isolation for people who test positive for COVID-19 will be scrapped.

This means people will no longer be mandated by law to stay at home for five days if they test positive for the virus. Now, theoretically, it means that people could attend work and school unless they are in a high-risk setting such as health and aged care.

However. much like having the flu, it is still advised for staff and/or students not to attend school if they're sick.

It is expected that COVID cases will continue to occur in our region in the very near and long-term future, but I have to admit this new mandate brings a lot of hope of what we have had to ensure over the last thirty months.

However, we still need to be vigilant to ensure that possible COVID outbreaks in the future will have minimal impact in both our home and school settings. We still have some rapid antigen tests at school and these are available to be sent home to any of our families if required. If you child/ren does test positive to COVID, can you please contact the school?
