Mr Hyatt

Welcome to Term 4!

Welcome back to Term 4!  I hope that everyone enjoyed the break (even though it went quickly) and have recharged for a busy term ahead.  It was great to see everyone on Tuesday, as the students were very excited to be back to see their friends and teachers.

School Facebook Account Release Soon!

I have just been notified by the I.T Department at the Catholic Schools Office that our school's Facebook account is nearly ready to go. With this in mind, this site will be used to advertise various upcoming events as well as to promote the fantastic achievements on a wide range of fronts that are happening regularly at St Patrick's. To ensure that we follow the tightest privacy protocols to ensure that all of our school member's identities are safe and cannot be accessed by certain individuals that use the web for the wrong reasons, we will not be using any of our student's names on our Facebook account. Also, we will not be publishing any photos that contain any of our students whose parents have not given written permission for us to use their images. These disclosures will be sent out to all of our families in the very near future. I will let everyone know when our school account is up and running. Hopefully we will get a large number of followers (if that is the term). You can definitely tell, I am not very familiar with social media.

Transition Program Recommences Tomorrow!

We are definitely looking forward to seeing Campbell, Charlotte, Harper, Levi, Jack, Mackenzie, and Reid as they will be rejoining us tomorrow for the second stage of the Kindergarten Transition Program.

P & F Street Stall

P & F will be holding a second street stall fundraiser for the year on SATURDAY 15th OCTOBER.

Helpers are needed to:

- Assist on the day with the stall

We still need a couple of helpers throughout the day on the street stall.

- Provide baking to sell (Please make sure all food products are labelled with ingredients)

- Potted Succulents / Plants

If you are able to lend a small part of your day to help on the stall OR are willing to bake / pot succulents or plants it would be most appreciated.

All money raised goes back in to the school to assist and provide further opportunities for our children!

We will also be pre-selling tickets for the raffle, students have taken home this information this week.

For more information please see either Kylie Faux or Becky Tate.

P & F Meeting

The P & F meeting is scheduled for this upcoming Tuesday 18th October at 6.00pm in the library as well as Zoom.

Term 4 - Summer Uniform

The children look great in their Summer Uniforms. Please support the staff in ensuring your child/children are fully dressed in their correct uniform each day.  This includes the correct hat, shorts, socks and black shoes, blue/red hair ribbons.

St Patrick's has always had high expectations around the school uniform and it is an expectation that everyone wears the correct uniform with pride everyday.

Parents please make sure your child has the correct uniform on each day.

Please send a note to school if your child has a reason for being out of uniform.

Change of Days Wearing Sports Uniform

Due to our basketball program that is going to commence this upcoming Monday, the students will need to wear their sports uniforms on Monday (17th October, 24th October, 31st October, and the 7th November) instead of the normal Tuesday. The students will go back to normal with the wearing of their sports uniform in Week 6 (Tuesday 16th November).

2022 Brain Olympia

This is the first time in a number of years that St Patrick's Primary will be entering a team in the Brain Olympia. The Brain Olympia involves our students competing against other schools in various academic challenges. Some of the challenges include solving various general knowledge and mathematical problems, public speaking, and performing a drama presentation using a chosen topic. Our team consisting of 8 students from Years 4, 5 and 6 will compete against other smaller schools with an enrollment under 100 in the Plains Cluster at St Edward's Primary School, Tamworth on Wednesday 26th October. If we are in the top two teams in the small schools' section, we will then be invited to compete at the Diocese Final at Narrabri on Wednesday 9th November. We wish our team the very best of luck.

At the moment we have five members of our team indicating that they will be taking part in this competition. Can I please ask our remaining team member's parents if they inform me on whether they are planning to let their child participate at the Brain Olympia by tomorrow afternoon?

School Fees

Thank you for finalising the 2022 school fees. An overdue notice will be sent out to families who have overdue accounts in the very near future. Thank you for attending to the fees. I know at the moment times are very tough with the dramatic rise in the cost of living. If your family is struggling to pay school fees, please feel free to contact me so different arrangements can be made.

SCHOOL OFFICE HOURS

Our School Office hours are from 8:30am -3:30pm Monday to Friday.

If the school phone is unattended please leave a message on the answering machine.

In emergencies outside Office Hours you can also phone the school mobile 0428772328

New England Sings 2022 Term 4 for Years 3-6

It is getting very close before five of our students will be taking part in the New England Sings Rehearsal and Performance next weekend. I know our students will do a marvelous job representing St Patrick's at this event. I have to admit that I am looking forward to attending the performance as it is going to be a full house with all of the tickets sold.

I have just been informed by the organisers that if any of our parents have missed out on purchasing tickets, this event will be streamed through the Australian Digital Concert Hall. Tickets are $12 (including the program) for viewing on one device and can be purchased at https://www.australiandigitalconcerthall.com/#/item/98513
