Year 12 Graduation Ceremony  - 2009

presented by Sean Bowen (School  Principal 2005-2015)

My journey

I started my journey at Cecil Hills High School back in 2004, as a very excited, but nervous, Year 7 student.  Over the years, I made many lifelong friends and great memories. My favourite subjects at school were Food Technology, PDHPE and Community and Family Studies.  So, when it was time to decide what career I would choose to pursue, it had to be teaching - I graduated from Cecil Hills High School in 2009.

I completed my Bachelor degree in PDHPE and Food Technology in 2012 and went on to complete my Master of Teaching in 2014. I began my teaching career at Fairvale High School where I was also trained to teach Hospitality.  In mid-2016, I left to join Delany College in Granville where I was quickly promoted to Head Teacher PDHPE and have continued to uphold my position there.

Along the way, I got married and gave birth to my beautiful son, Lucas. Whilst enjoying maternity leave, I fell in love with candle-making and decided to start my own small business, Lucas and Lottie. Lucas being my beautiful son, and Lottie (Charlotte), my gorgeous niece, I thought it was the perfect fit!

Today, I run my own business from home while also working part-time as a casual teacher at Cecil Hills High School.

It has been a surreal experience being back after so many years but I thoroughly enjoy it. I wish every member of the community all the best and congratulations to Cecil Hills High School on celebrating 25 years - I feel honoured to be a part of the story.
