Year 3/4 News

Return to On-Site Learning!

We welcomed the 3/4 Students back to on-site learning this week and it was wonderful to see them smiling and full of energy! The sun was shining on their first day back and they enjoyed completing some of their learning outside.

All of our students are quickly adapting to the new hygiene and COVID safe practices in their learning spaces. They are becoming experts at washing/sanitising their hands at regular intervals, wiping tables, wearing masks supplied from home, drinking water exclusively from their own drink bottle and having external doors and windows open whilst inside. We are especially impressed with their ability to adapt to wearing a mask inside during learning.

The children also made their own Halloween masks, using their creative skills to colour and decorate them using different materials!

Maths

The students have been exploring money and financial maths for the last couple of weeks and solving problems involving purchases and the calculation of change.

This week at school the children were given the task of creating and budgeting for a family meal plan. They were given $100 and different supermarket catalogues and asked to budget a meal plan for 7 days without exceeding the limit. Some were even able to include some tasty treats and desserts (of course - this was mostly chocolate and ice cream!).
