Catholic Values and Principles

 The Common Good

Our Catholic tradition proclaims that the person is not only sacred but also social. The way in which we organise our society, (economically, politically and legally), directly affects human dignity and the capacity of individuals to grow in community.

We believe people have a right and a duty to participate in society, bringing together the common good and well-being of all, especially the poor and vulnerable.

This week St. Pat's celebrated Catholic Missions Week and together we raised money to protect orphaned children from Ghana who have been rejected from their communities. The sisters running this orphanage are the living embodiment of an institution protecting the most vulnerable and promoting the common good.

Year 2 Catholic Students Preparation – First Reconciliation

Preparation for First Reconciliation has begun. The children will make their First Reconciliation on Friday 22 November after 11:30 am Mass.

Condolences

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Pittman family after the death of Bateson & Sara's great grandmother. May she rest in peace.

NOVEMBER- All Saints 1st & All Souls Day 2nd

All Souls Day (2 November) reminds us of our own mortality. It also calls us to remember the members of our own families and our friends who have died. For many people it is a day for visiting the graves of people whom we love.

All Souls Day reminds us that each human being is precious in God’s sight – valued and loved so much that the Son of God died with and for them.
