Over at the junior campus, the Year 7 cohort have nearly finished their first term in the secondary schooling system. We would like to thank the Year 7 families and community for transitioning effortlessly into the Sandringham College community, which was evident from the successful Year 7 camp, which was a highlight for many Year 7 students. So the Wellbeing team would like to send a big thank you for all those involved in organising and supporting the Year 7 camp.
ALT's have also taken centre stage at Bluff Rd, which also comes with an increased amount of study and work commitment from all students. We want to double down on the importance of students taking the time to initiate small acts of self – care as study and work output increases. Isabella, the wonderful Wellbeing Coordinator has some wonderful tips that can ensure stress is kept at a healthy level.
Finally, we would like to endorse the start of numerous groups at Bluff Rd including Minecraft, Rainbow, Robotics and Chess clubs.
Over at the senior campus, the students have been busy getting through assessment weeks and periods of busy classroom schedules. The Wellbeing team would like to remind our students of the importance of looking after yourself, especially during times of high stress. Make sure to always find time for a night time wind down routine, exercise or just enjoying some down time doing something that you love. This time spent looking after yourself will result in increased productivity when the clock says it's time to get back to the desk for some study.
Our Mental Health Practitioner-Gulzabeen Mohammed finished up with Sandringham College during week 7. We are so grateful for all of the wonderful work that she has done for the school over the past 3 years, and she has left a mark on our procedures, policies and most importantly, the students. We wish her only the best in her new role and will miss her greatly.
