plums, carrots and silver beet from our kitchen garden
plums, carrots and silver beet from our kitchen garden

Over the school holidays our kitchen garden has been productive. We picked 2 kilograms of blood plums to make 9 jars so staff and students could try the home made jam.

The summer weather has been unstable so produce such as eggplant, tomatoes and zucchinis are slow to grow and ripen. Silver beet is a versatile vegetable and can be substituted for spinach in a Spanakopita.

Next Thursday 23rd  and Friday 24th are Naranga Clean Up days. Upper juniors have been very busy creating posters to promote the event.
