Principal's Report

Dear parents, carers and students,

It has great to see so many parents and carers in the school this week for Student Support Group meetings.  It is vital that home and school have a strong relationship and shared objectives for all of our students.  A strong relationship helps us achieve the best outcomes for each student.  The Student Support Group plays a crucial role in developing the Individual Education Plan.  The IEP outlines clear educational goals for the student and both parent-voice and student-voice are encouraged in the process.  The first meeting of the year is an in-depth look at the strengths and needs of the student.  You will have the opportunity to review progress at the next SSG.  SSG meetings are scheduled for each term.  If you haven't yet scheduled an SSG meeting, please contact your child's teacher.

Call for School Council nominations

It is the time of year when I once again am looking for nominations for our School Council.  The Council meets eight times a year and is an essential part of running a school.  If you'd like to nominate, you can contact our office for a nomination form.  Nominations close on 24 February.  If you have any questions, please ring me to discuss.

School Review

Naranga School will be undergoing a School Review this term.  The Review begins on March 14.  It examines all elements of our practice as a school and sets targets for our next four year School Strategic Plan.  Parents and carers will be given an opportunity to contribute to the Review through parent consultation sessions.  I'll be providing details of those sessions as we get closer to the review.
