PFA Fundraising Update – Have Your Say!

Thanks to the wonderful support of our school community, we’ve had an incredible year of fundraising. Over the course of 2025, the PFA has raised an amazing $70,000, with the Spring Carnival alone contributing around half of that.

Recently, the PFA has been working with Ms Roberts to explore a range of ideas for how these funds could best support our students. We’ve also been doing some groundwork in the background, looking at costings, checking feasibility, and making sure the options are things the kids will genuinely benefit from and enjoy.

We now have a shortlist of approved projects, and soon we’ll be inviting families to vote on which of these should be prioritised. Your input will help guide where PFA funds are directed and ensure the final decision reflects the broader community’s priorities.

Keep an eye out – we’re looking forward to hearing your preferences once the voting opens.

Thank you to our all parent volunteers

Finally, a huge thank you to all the wonderful parents who so generously volunteered at or supported the PFA’s various fundraising activities and events during 2025. Some of this year’s highlights include our iconic Easter Egg raffle in term 1, all the fun and excitement of the School Disco and Parent Trivia Night in Term 2, and the Spring Carnival in Term 3.

But we know it's not just about the big events. All parent contributions - big or small - make a real difference. We know the CPS community simply wouldn’t be the same without those smaller ongoing activities the kids adore like Popcorn and Icypole Fridays, along with much-loved fundraising drives like hot cross buns or mangoes and even the quarterly Scholastic Book Club catalogues.

All these events - from the headline events like the Spring Carnival right down to Icypole Fridays - can only happen through parents donating their precious time. Thank you in particular to the PFA members, particularly our core committee members (Bart Wildash, Philadelphia Jackman, Sam Yang, Claire Edwards, Candice Hall and Laura Davies). Your contribution not only earns you invaluable kudos with your kids but also strengthens and improves our school community as a whole.

Looking ahead to 2026, we’d love to see more parents join the PFA. We have noticed this year that it's becoming harder and harder to recruit parent volunteers, and too often it is the same small group of parents who are working tirelessly behind the scenes to enrich our kids’ schooling experience. For this reason, some regular fundraisers like Cherries and Tarts, did not go ahead this year.

We would desperately love to have more parents get involved with the PFA in 2026. We’ve got an exciting calendar of events planned and there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved, from joining the PFA itself on an ongoing basis through to organising a one-off event or simply volunteering to help out ad-hoc.

Getting more parents involved with the PFA will bring fresh ideas, add value and help us to continue to build a strong, vibrant and connected school community. We’ll be holding some parent drinks early in the new school year and this will be a fantastic opportunity to come along and find out how you can get involved.
