MENTAL HEALTH IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS

MHiPS

MHiPS

Through the Victorian Government’s Mental Health in Primary Schools (MHiPS) initiative, our school has received funding to appoint a dedicated Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader (MHWL). This initiative has been developed in partnership between the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI), the University of Melbourne’s Faculty of Education and the Victorian Department of Education.

This role is designed to develop a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing, ensuring that our students and their families can be best supported by us as a school.

Our MHWL will work closely with staff to develop our mental health literacy and build our confidence to promote positive mental health practices here at school. As the project unfolds, we will learn more about our school’s unique needs, which means that the program will often be evolving and changing as time goes on.

Mrs Angelique Loverso has been appointed as our school’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader. She will be leading this important work and collaborating with teachers, support staff, and external providers to enhance our existing wellbeing programs, increase staff capacity and knowledge and support students and families.
