Acting Principal Blurb

What a fantastic start we have had to the 2026 school year! It has been wonderful to see all students settle quickly into their classrooms, reconnect with friends, and begin the year with enthusiasm and confidence. There is a genuine sense of excitement across the school, and it’s clear we are set for a great year of learning and growth.
One of the highlights of our first assembly was the introduction of our new Prep students. Our Year 6 buddies did a superb job welcoming them on stage and supporting them as they begin their primary school journey. This is always a special moment in our school calendar, and it was heart‑warming to see the pride and care shown by our senior students.
As many families will have noticed, construction work on the old school building is now underway. During this period, we will be temporarily modifying our specialist programs. Music and Physical Education (PE) will run together, with students experiencing both programs during their scheduled PE/Music times. These sessions will be operating out of the gym for the duration of the works. We appreciate everyone’s flexibility as we adapt to these temporary changes.
I am also pleased to share that we are introducing a new format for our Term 1 parent–teacher interviews. This year, these meetings will be known as our “Welcome and Connection Meetings". The purpose of these meetings, is to provide families with an opportunity to share important academic, social and emotional information about your child/ren, ensuring teachers have a deep understanding of how to best support each student right from the beginning. Further details are included below, and Compass bookings will open early next week.
Thank you for your ongoing support. I look forward to a positive, productive and engaging year ahead for all members of our school community.
Warm regards,
Mick Georgiadis
