Term 4 Curriculum / Student Free Days

We would like to communicate the following student-free days occurring in Term 4;

Friday 7th November - Whole School Curriculum Day - Staff will be participating in their 3rd Day of Berry St Training.

Monday 17th November - Staff Common Professional Practice Day, students are not required at school on this day.

The Final Day of Term 4 and the 2025 school year will be on Friday 19th Dec, students will be dismissed at 12.30pm on this day.

2026 Student Grade Placement

It is that time of year when I ask families to inform us of 2026 grade placement considerations. The processes of creating class sizes, groupings, and placing staff for the 2026 year will begin at the start of next term, and therefore, via the link below, we ask for parents/caregivers to share their thinking regarding the placement of their child/ren for 2026.

This is not a request process and although your feelings will certainly be considered, the individual requesting for specific teaching staff will not be. If there are comments and or thinking that you have regarding this, please add this to the Google Form. This is to be completed by Friday 17th October. Considerations after this date will not be accepted.

As always, what decisions that are made regarding where students are placed will ensure we have the best possible balance to cater for every single one of our students and their academic, social and emotional needs.

Art Show - Wednesday October 15, 4-6pm

Whole School Concert 2025 - NEW VENUE!

Our Annual Concert is happening next Term, on Tues 21st Oct.

Please note: The following day is the Geelong Cup Public Holiday (22nd Oct), there is no school for students on this day as the school will be closed. A great 'rest day' for our younger students.

Classes have commenced practicing their concert items and the excitement amongst students is building!

This year our concert venue will be the Geelong Arts Centre. Our production will take place in The Play House theatre.

Tickets will be on sale early next term.

Nude Food Fridays

Fridays have been nominated as Nude Food days at Newtown PS. We encourage families to pack rubbish free lunches each Friday for their children. Our SRC will visit a selection of classes each week, awarding house points to students who have nude food lunches on these days.

Did you know: Members of our school community may attend most School Council meetings.
