The Future of PCV

PCV Strategic Planning Update

Your Voice Matters - Help Shape Our Future

You may have heard we're embarking on something new - a comprehensive strategic planning process that will help guide Pony Club Victoria into the future. We wanted to take a moment to explain what this means, why we're doing it, and most importantly, how you can be part of it.

Why Strategic Planning?

Like many organizations, PCV has grown and evolved over the years. We've seen changes in membership patterns, shifts in what families are looking for from their pony club experience, and new challenges around governance and engagement. Rather than just react to these changes, we decided it was time to be proactive.

This strategic planning process is about taking a step back, listening to our entire community, and creating a clear roadmap for the next few years. We want to make sure we're not just maintaining what we've always done, but actively building something even better for current and future members.

What We're Doing

We've partnered with Steve Pallas and Zali Gosling from TayMill Media and Consulting, who specialize in working with sporting organizations like ours. They're helping us conduct a thorough review that includes:

  • Examining our current governance structures and policies
  • Gathering input from every part of our community through surveys and consultations
  • Hosting town hall meetings where we can discuss findings and ideas together
  • Developing a comprehensive strategic plan based on what we learn

The best part? This isn't something being done to our community - it's being done with you. Your experiences, ideas, and concerns are at the heart of this entire process.

How You Can Get Involved

We need to hear from you! We've created specific surveys for different parts of our community:

🐴 Current Riders: Share Your Experience Tell us about your pony club journey, what you love, and what could be better.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Current Parents: Your Perspective Matters Help us understand what's working for families and what challenges you face.

👋 Past Parents: We Want to Hear from You Your insights about why you left or what might bring you back are invaluable.

🏇 Club Representatives: Club-Level Insights Share what you're seeing at the ground level and what support clubs need.

🌟 Zone Representatives: Regional Perspectives Help us understand how things work across different zones and regions.

Town Hall Meetings - Join the Conversation

Once we've gathered survey responses, we'll be sharing what we've learned and having open discussions about the findings:

What Happens Next?

This whole process will wrap up by mid-November with a professional strategic plan that reflects our community's voice and vision. But the real work happens after that - implementing the plan and building the future we've designed together.

Your Trust and Participation Matter

We know this represents a new way of working for PCV. Change can feel uncertain, but we believe that by involving everyone in shaping our future, we'll end up with something stronger and more sustainable than what we could create on our own.

Whether you've been part of pony club for decades or you're just starting out, your perspective matters. Please take a few minutes to complete the appropriate survey and plan to join us for the town hall discussions.

Together, we can ensure PCV continues to be a place where young people develop confidence, skills, and lasting friendships through their love of horses.

Questions? Don't hesitate to reach out to us. This is your organization, and we want to make sure you feel heard throughout this process.
