All Schools State Badminton Championships
Seventeen Mazenod students represented the College at the All Schools State Badminton Championships this week, competing against some of the best school teams in Victoria. Our Division 1 team delivered a brilliant performance to secure the bronze medal, while both Division 2 teams impressed with strong finishes in a large field of competitors. Congratulations to all students involved for their commitment, teamwork and determination throughout the day—outstanding ambassadors for Mazenod College.
Redkite Charity Fundraising
Throughout August, our student leaders ran four fundraising events to support the Redkite Charity, which provides essential support to children with cancer and their families.Mazenod joined with several other schools as part of the Inter-School Social Service Committee, an initiative begun by Korowa Anglican Girls’ College, raising $2,778 towards this important cause.
A huge thank you to all who supported the events—your generosity makes a real difference.
National HPE Day
National Health & PE Day was in full swing at Mazenod as we welcomed guest instructor Sarah Piotrowski, who led our VCE PE Unit 3&4 students through a yoga and flexibility session. Staff also joined in with their own class earlier in the day, while Year 8s took to the ovals for Aussie Rules and Year 7s swam at Monash University.
The day is a reminder that Health and Physical Education is about more than just sport, it’s about movement, resilience, teamwork, respect and wellbeing.
