Grade 5/6 Zoo Excursion

As part of our Term 1 Inquiry unit, students participated in a workshop at Melbourne Zoo. The workshop, titled Conditions for Survival, explored the impact of human activity on the environment and the interconnections between species. Students also visited the Palm Oil exhibition to deepen their understanding of the ethical choices we make as consumers.

'Last Thursday the year 5/6s went to the Melbourne Zoo where we saw lots of exotic and endangered animals and we learnt why they are endangered in the wild. We got to do lots of fun activities as well as learning about the effects of palm oil on animals. Later, it started to rain so we went to the reptile area and met up with the other group. It was a very entertaining and productive day and left us all with smiles on our faces.'
