Sports Update

Beachside Athletics

A huge congratulations to the 37 talented students who proudly represented our school at the Beachside Athletics Carnival! Despite the challenging and blustery conditions, every single student should be incredibly proud of the effort, resilience and sportsmanship they displayed throughout the day. It takes true grit to perform your best when fighting the wind, and our students rose to the occasion with fantastic determination.

While every participant gave their all, a few students delivered truly outstanding results and have 'punched their ticket' to the next level.

We are thrilled to announce the following four athletes have qualified for the Regional Finals on October 22nd:

  • Jack P: Hurdles

  • Phin H: Hurdles

  • Luke M: Triple Jump

Congratulations to Elsie, Jack, Phin, and Luke! Your hard work and dedication have paid off. We wish you the very best of luck as you prepare to compete against the region's top athletes.

Hooptime Future Stars Regional Finals Success

A huge congratulations to our two Hooptime Future Stars teams who competed in the Regional Finals at the State Basketball Centre this week! Both teams played with outstanding skill, teamwork, and determination throughout the day.

Reaching the finals is an incredible achievement, and although both teams narrowly missed out on the championship, they should be extremely proud of their efforts and the way they represented our school.

Well done to all players and coaches involved, your hard work, sportsmanship, and school pride truly shone through!

PE Classes

We’ve kicked off our new basketball unit, and students have been having a fantastic time developing their dribbling, passing, and shooting skills. Everyone has shown great enthusiasm and teamwork as we learn the fundamentals of the game.

Our Prep students have been extra lucky to have some wonderful helpers, our Year 6 leaders and Year 10 Work Experience students supporting them with their basketball skills. The older students have been great role models and have really enjoyed coaching and encouraging our youngest players.

To finish off the session, we had a fun tug of war challenge: the Preps took on the Year 10s and Mr Sandler... and in an incredible show of teamwork and determination the Preps won!

Go Joeys!
