This Week's Updates

Dear Families,

I hope you were able to enjoy a long weekend with your families. With our busy lives, it's important to stop, pause and take time to enjoy some slower paced moments with our loved ones; the park, the footy, the Grand Prix, Moomba, gardening, watching a movie together or even walking the dog.

Our two school closure days were extremely beneficial and we managed to complete all of the school review tasks we set ourselves. Thank you for supporting this work which is required every four years. The next step is for our Leadership Team to compile the document we send to our external reviewer. He will be visiting us on Monday 30 March to meet the staff and tour our school site before returning late April for two days onsite. During these two days he will meet with important stakeholders; staff groups, student groups and a parent group (most likely the SAC).

NAPLAN commences tomorrow with the writing task for our Year 3 and 5 students and continues over various days for the next fortnight. The timetable has been shared with our Year 3 and Year 5 parents.

Next week we will be releasing bookings for our Student Teacher Parent Learning Conferences which will be held on  Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd April. Please keep an eye out on Nforma and next week's newsletter.

Please note that 1A Conferences need to be held the week prior, on Wednesday 25 March.

Catholic Education Week is Sunday 15 March to Sunday 22 March. Mr Crowe will be taking some of our Year Six student leaders to the celebration. Mrs Eriksen has entered some art pieces produced by students in 2025 into the Art Show held at the Catholic Leadership Centre, East Melbourne, which is open throughout Catholic Education Week.

Ride2School Day

On Friday 20th March it's Ride2school Day. Students can walk, ride their bikes or scooters to school and place them in the bike shed where they'll be for them to return home. Ride2school Day encourages all students nation-wide to be physically active on their way to school.  Parents feel free to drop students off at a nearby street if you live too far away for your child/ren to walk/ride the whole distance.

The nominations are now open for the 2025 School Crossing Supervisor awards.

We all know how fabulous our Chris is! She certainly meets the criteria and it would be wonderful to have her acknowledged. Please take a minute to nominate Chris Lowry.
