Congratulations to Jack and Benjamin (G10), who have successfully completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award this month.
This accomplishment represents sustained commitment across Volunteering, Physical Recreation, Skills development, and an Adventurous Journey. Their dedication, organisation, and resilience are to be commended.
Interested in Joining?
The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award provides students with a structured framework to build confidence, independence, and leadership. The Award is widely recognised for developing perseverance, initiative, and community engagement. All of which are qualities that benefit students both academically and personally.
If your child is 14 years or older and would like to participate, they must register at dukeofed.com.au to begin the process.
Students meet weekly on Fridays at lunchtime in DG5 for support and guidance as they work toward completing their Award.
For Current Participants
If your child is already undertaking the Award, I strongly encourage you to check in regularly regarding their online record book and administrative progress. Keeping logs up to date and ensuring requirements are recorded correctly is essential. Incomplete administration is one of the most common reasons students experience delays in successfully completing their Award!
Also, if you are actively looking for Adventurous Journey providers please visit the following approved providers:
Thank you for your continued support in encouraging your child to take on this valuable opportunity.
Student in Years 7 to 10 are invited to join the Engineering club which operates every Tuesday during Lunch in Room DG5. Some examples of what students will be building are: a mouse trap racer, mechanical toy, hydraulic crane, drag car racer etc. Students can come join the fun in building these projects by parents signing up their child via the Extra Curricular option on the parent orbit app.
Our Senior School Book Club is back! 'The Breakfast Club' provides students with a relaxed and social space to enjoy reading, discuss books, and explore new authors with other keen readers.
We will meet on Monday and Thursday mornings in the library from 7.30am. Students are welcome to attend one or both meetings. A light breakfast of toast and Weet-Bix will be available. Please update your child’s dietary requirements in the Parent Lounge.
Parents should register their child via the school App if they would like them to participate by selecting the “Extra-Curricular” icon on the homepage.
If your child enjoys reading or would like to try something new, Book Club is a great opportunity to build confidence, friendships, and develop a love of books.
We look forward to welcoming both new and returning members!
