Principal's Message
Mr Beilken
It is hard to believe that as I write this, we are almost at the midpoint of the year. This term has seen the students at Marangaroo participating in a wide range of academic, sporting, cultural and community activities. I wish everyone a safe, relaxing and well-deserved holiday break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back next term, refreshed and ready for another exciting semester of learning.
2027 Enrolments
Marangaroo Primary School is currently accepting Kindergarten enrolments for 2027. The official closing date for enrolment applications is Friday 24 July (end of Week 1, Term 3). Applications submitted after this date will still be accepted; however, if enrolment numbers exceed available places, priority will be given to applications received before the closing date.
If you, or someone you know, has a child turning four years of age before 30 June 2027, please visit the school office to collect an enrolment pack.
Families with children currently enrolled in Kindergarten at Marangaroo Primary School received an enrolment pack yesterday for their child's transition into Pre-primary in 2027. Please complete these forms and return them to the Administration office as soon as possible.
Reporting to Parents
Yesterday afternoon, Semester 1 student reports were emailed to all families. As mentioned in the previous edition of M Chat, the secure link contained within the email will remain active for 28 days only. I encourage all families to access the report as soon as possible and save a copy for their records before the link expires.
WA Student Assistance Payment
Earlier this term, the Western Australian Government announced the continuation of the WA Student Assistance Payment in 2026. Eligible families will receive $150 for each child enrolled in Kindergarten to Year 6 and $250 for each child enrolled in Years 7 to 12. Claims open from 20 July 2026, at the beginning of next term and will remain open until the end of Term 3.
The easiest way to claim the payment is through the ServiceWA app, available to download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. When submitting a claim, you will need your child's WA Student Number (WASN), which can be found on the cover page of the Semester 1 report emailed to families yesterday. I encourage families to locate and save this information in preparation for the claims opening next term.
Interschool Sports
It was fantastic to see students from Marangaroo, Hudson Park, Nollamara, Dryandra and Boyare Primary Schools participating in the Interschool Netball, AFL, Soccer and Basketball Carnival at Marangaroo last week. Throughout the day, our students demonstrated excellent sportsmanship, teamwork and resilience, representing our school with pride. Events like this are only possible because of the hard work and dedication of both staff and students. I would like to sincerely thank all staff who gave their time to train, coach and support our Netball, Soccer, AFL and Basketball teams throughout the term. A special thank you also goes to Mr Lee for his outstanding planning, organisation, coaching and leadership in preparing our teams throughout Term 2. His commitment played a significant role in the success of the carnival.
Our teams achieved some fantastic results on the day and should be proud of their achievements. The results were:
Netball: The Netball B team competed strongly all day and finished in 6th Place. Netball A won 4 games and drew another to win the Interschool Netball Shield.
AFL: The team worked hard all day and showed some massive improvement from the round robin games. They won 2 games and finished in equal second place.
Soccer: Like the AFL team, the soccer players made tremendous progress over the course of the term. While they were unable to record a win on the day, they scored three goals and demonstrated great determination in every match.
Basketball: Won all of their games and won the Interschool Basketball Shield
