Basketball

Congratulations to Year 10 Sports Academy students Cooper Belsham and Adrian French for winning 9 out of 11 games in the 3x3 State Basketball Tournament. They will now go on to compete in the National Championships. 

Morwell Basketball Tournament

Year 8 Sports Academy students Liv Ouchirenko, Virginia Daley and Holly Reaper recently competed at the Morwell Tournament and were undefeated all weekend, winning their Grand Final against Sale by 26 points. Well done to Liv Ouchirenko who not only received MVP but was also selected to participate in Basketball Victoria’s State Development Basketball Program and in the Basketball Victoria Australian Junior Country Basketball Cup. Well done! 

 

Basketball Gold Nugget Camp 

Congratulations to the following students who have been selected to compete at the 2024 Gold Nugget Camp:

Football & Netball Awards

Well done to Brooke Olsen who received equal Runners Up Best & Fairest in the U15s Netball Team for Poowong FNC, to Kaylea Rudling for receiving Best & Fairest in the U15s Netball Team for Churchill FNC and to Libby Hoare for receiving Best & Fairest in the U15s Netball Team for YYNFNC.

Year 12 Sports Academy student and draft prospect Ricky Mentha was part of the AFL State Combine recently.

We had a number of students who represented Gippsland Power in the U15s V-Line Cup in Ballarat recently:

Gippsland Power Football Awards

Congratulations to the following students who received an award after their 2024 season at Gippsland Power:

Congratulations to Mr. Chandler for receiving the Best Clubman Award, and to Rhett McLennan, one of our football coaches, for his 10 years of service at the Gippsland Power Football Club. 

 

 

Miss Sheridan's Update from Ireland 

In Ireland, Miss Sheridan (previous staff member at Lowanna College) has been competing in Gaelic Football competitions, winning the Cavan Championship and progressing to their State Championships.
