Reminder: VTAC 2026-27 Applications and Key Dates
Students planning on undertaking further studies after year 12 have been able to able to open and apply for courses via the VTAC website since August. Updated course information for universities and TAFEs was made available from July, allowing students to research courses and entry requirements well before applications opened on 3 August 2026.
A key date to remember is 28 September 2026, when timely VTAC applications close. Students only need to create and pay for their VTAC account and list at least one course preference by this date. Course preferences can continue to be updated until Change of Preference (CoP) closes on 12 December 2026.
Applications for Equity Schemes (Special Entry Access Scheme) and scholarships opened with VTAC applications on 3 August and close on 9 October 2026. Any student seeking special consideration should immediately start working on their application and reach out to either myself or the Senior School Leader should they require assistance.
VCE results and ATARs will be released on 10 December 2026, with Change of Preference counselling available to assist students in reviewing their course selections. The first round of VTAC offers will be made on 23 December 2026, followed by further offer rounds in January and February 2027.
Students are reminded to always accept any offer they receive, as it is much easier to withdraw from a course later than to secure an offer after declining one. Timely VTAC applications cost $83, with higher fees applying for late and very late applications.

Week 5 - Trade Taster Day
Week 5 of the Year 10 Trades Taster at Holmesglen Tafe 2026- Metro Tunnel Project
In the fifth week, Students participated in the introduction to pluming and workplace safety workshop. Students learned about the registered trade of pluming (including roofing). They then proceeded to the Metro tunnel project site to understand safety on commercial projects. They were introduced via immersive activities using both VR and demonstrations on machines that modelled equipment safety problems and breaches, highlighting the need for engineering solutions and PPE. This was a day of full engagement by the students, as they could observe commercial building practice in action. Well done to the participants!
