AGM - 7th September 2026
Join the Board of Management for the 2026-2027 Season
Thinking about getting more involved at Ringwood Swimming Club?
Joining the committee is a great way to meet new people, support the club, and have a say in how things run. You don’t need any special experience—just a bit of time and a willingness to help out.
Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is fast approaching, and we invite all members to join us as we reflect on the past year and look ahead to the future of Ringwood Swimming Club.
Date: Monday 7 September 2026
Time: 6:30pm
Location: RSC Clubrooms
Voting Eligibility & Quorum
For the AGM to proceed, we require a quorum of at least 10% of members over the age of 18.
Please note that parents wishing to attend and vote at the AGM must hold a current Dry Membership to be eligible to vote. If you are unsure of your membership status, please get in touch prior to the meeting.
New Constitution
One of the key items of business at this year's AGM will be the adoption of a new Club Constitution. (attached below)
The updated Constitution has been developed to align Ringwood Swimming Club with current governance standards and best practice guidelines, ensuring our club remains well governed and positioned for future success.
The proposed Constitution has been reviewed and approved by Swimming Victoria, providing confidence that it reflects current governance requirements and best practice for affiliated swimming clubs.
Board of Management Elections
At the AGM, the Board of Management for the 2026/27 season will be announced. If more nominations are received than positions available, an election will be held.
The elected Board of Management positions are:
These positions form the Board of Management, which is responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the club. Position descriptions for each of these roles are attached for members who would like further information about the responsibilities involved. Both Vice Presidents will be expected to take on another Role.
A Grievance Handling Officer will also be elected at the AGM- a position separate to the board of committee (position description attached)
If you would like to nominate for one of these positions, please complete the attached nomination form and return it via email or in person to our Secretary, Jackie, at secretary@ringwoodswimmingclub.org.au, no later than Monday 31 August 2026.
Following the AGM, the Board of Management will appoint two additional positions:
These positions will also attend the Board of Management meetings each month. If you would like to be considered for one of these roles, please let Joel or Jackie know via email by Monday 31st August.
Club Events Committee - We need you to get involved
Beyond the Board of Management, we are also looking for members to join our Club Events Committee.
This committee will play an important role in supporting the club and will assist with areas such as sponsorship, fundraising, uniforms, team managers, team-building activities and club events.
We are looking for a minimum of five members to form this committee.
The Club Events Committee will meet separately from the Board of Management and will provide regular updates to the Board, including any matters or initiatives requiring Board approval. This structure will allow the committee to take ownership of its areas of responsibility while working closely with the Board to support the club's overall direction.
You don't need previous committee experience to get involved. It's a great opportunity to learn more about how the club operates, meet other RSC families and play an active role in creating opportunities and experiences for our swimmers.
With the upcoming Aquanation closure expected to result in fewer club-run meets this season, this is also a great time to get involved behind the scenes. A slightly quieter events calendar will provide an ideal opportunity for new volunteers to learn the ropes and become familiar with how the club operates and runs.
If you would like to know more about any of the Board of Management or Club Events Committee roles, please contact either Joel at president@ringwoodswimmingclub.org.au or Jackie at secretary@ringwoodswimmingclub.org.au.
To nominate for a club events committee position, please complete the attached form and return it via email or in person to Jackie, no later than Monday 31st August 2026.
We encourage our members to attend the AGM and be part of the conversation about the future direction of Ringwood Swimming Club.
We look forward to seeing as many members as possible on Monday 7 September at 6:30pm.
Kind regards,
Ringwood Swimming Club Executive Committee
