Significant moments to lock away in your diaries, as part of our Jubilee Year celebrations.
FOUNDERS' DAY - Friday 14 February
On this day, first thing in the morning, we will conduct our annual Founders' Day observance, with a re-enactment of the first day of school in February 1975, followed by history trail dedication.
It will include a whole school assembly in the upstairs courts of the Community Hub, preceded by the arrival of our First Day 1975 students in a 1960s bus at Primary (like the one they caught to school that very first day) and a celebratory walk by them through a school guard of honour.
WELCOME FEST - Saturday 22 February
Our Prep to Year 12 celebration, hosted by Friends of Donvale, in the afternoon and evening, encompassing activities utilising the ovals, the Community Hub; the outdoor covered basketball court – a chance for all families to celebrate the start of a new year together.
THANKSGIVING SERVICES - Friday 28 November
(All onsite – both daytime events)
No lessons on that day.
Families are invited to the Service(s) their children are participating in.
An all-Primary Thanksgiving Service (all Prep - Year 6 students to attend) in the morning.
An all-Secondary Thanksgiving Service (all Years 7-11 students to attend) in the afternoon.
Both held in upstairs courts of the Community Hub.
Exact timings to be confirmed during 2025.
Between the two services, an opportunity for those families attending both services to enjoy a picnic lunch at school, if they wish to stay onsite. You will be advised of the more detailed planning (including Food Trucks!) in early Term 4.
Other noteworthy plans include:
50 Acts of Kindness
A specially commissioned music composition to be performed, in staged releases, by different music ensembles throughout the year, at different music and community events. Stay tuned for more details on this beautiful musical creation.
