Micro-credentials Week 2023

Over the past week, students have immersed themselves in wide range of micro-credential courses. The week showcased the diverse talents and interests within our school community, making it an exceptional celebration of continuous learning.

From baking holiday treats in "Baking for the Holidays" to perfecting the art of coffee-making in the "Barista Course," participants engaged in hands-on experiences that went beyond the traditional classroom setting. From "Beginner Guitar" classes to 'Dance and Musical Theatre and "Bike Maintenance", there was something for everyone.

Literature enthusiasts united in the "Book Club," while fitness enthusiasts embraced the challenge of "Boot Camp." Adventurous spirits scaled new heights in "Bouldering" and explored the fascinating world of "Colourful Chemicals." Practical life skills were emphasised through "CPR and First Aid," ensuring our community is well-prepared for emergencies.

Creativity took many forms, from moulding clay in "Pottery" to crafting intricate designs in "Laser Cutting." Students also engaged in literary pursuits with "Creative Writing" and explored the exciting world of electronics in "Electronics and Soldering."

The week's offerings extended to a variety of interests, including "Gelli Plate Printing," "Gingerbread House" construction, and the precision of "Sushi and Origami." Mindful pursuits found expression in "Mindful Writing" and "Study Supervision," promoting a balanced approach to learning.

The commitment to collaboration was evident in activities such as "Teams Games," "Model UN," and "Tabletop Games." The week also celebrated the arts with "Lights, Camera, Action" and "Drama and Performing Skills," highlighting the importance of creativity in education.

As we reflect on the success of Micro-Credentials Week, we extend our gratitude to all participants, instructors, and organisers. Your enthusiasm and dedication have created a vibrant tapestry of learning experiences, and we look forward to building on this momentum in our ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of lifelong learning.

Congratulations to everyone involved—we're already anticipating the positive impact these newfound skills will have on our school community and beyond.
