Reconciliation Week 2025 - 27 May to 3 June (Term 2, Week 6)
2025 Theme - Bridging Now to Next
National Reconciliation Week is coming up in week 6 and we will be celebrating this important week across all classrooms at FWPS. Reconciliation Week is dedicated to building positive, respectful relationships between all Australians. It is a chance to reflect on how we can work towards building respectful and inclusive relationships. It also provides an opportunity to acknowledge the past and take steps towards healing and reconciliation.
The Marrung Student Representatives have been talking about reconciliation and the importance of Reconciliation Week in their meetings. In classrooms, students and teachers will be participating in Reconciliation Week Classroom Bingo. With teacher guidance, students will be exploring a range of reconciliation based activities, with the intention of broadening their understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander history, culture and perspectives.
Reconciliation Week celebrations at FWPS will conclude with a First Nations dance party at recess on Friday and a special Reconciliation Week assembly on Friday afternoon.

Pen Recycling at FWPS
We have filled our first box of pens which I returned to Officeworks last weekend. This is over 4kg of pens saved from landfill!
Thanks for sending your old pens up to the office. Please keep collecting them. If you don't have a tub to collect them in, please speak to Caity or myself.
Thanks,
Michelle
