F-2 SWIMMING LESSONS - WEEK 8

The junior swimming lessons at Gurri Wanyarra are approaching quickly. The lessons run over 5 days (Monday 24th - Friday 28th November) in week 8.

The swimming lesson times for each year level are:

Grade 2 - 12pm

Grade 1 - 12:45pm

Foundation - 1:30pm

**These are different to the bus times. Buses will leave Holy Rosary 30 minutes before hand. Please check you PAM note for this information and anything further that you may need to know.

*The Thursday session is a Water Safety Day. Please pack a spare t-shirt and shorts your child can wear in the water. These can be casual clothes - they don't need to be a school uniform.

It is extremely helpful if your child can wear their bathers underneath their school uniform to school. A pair of slip-on shoes (thongs, slides, etc) can be worn to and from the pool but students must wear their normal school shoes to and from school.

HOLY ROSARY SWIMMING CARNIVAL (GRADES 3-6)

On Monday, 1st December we will be having our Holy Rosary Swimming Carnival. This will be held at Bendigo East Pool. This event will start around 10am and finish around 12:45pm. This event will be lots of fun, if your child isn't a confident swimmer there will be 25m events at the shallow end of the pool (where they can stand up). Students can also use kickboards for the 25m events. If your child is a keen swimmer who is aiming to qualify for the next stages at the start of 2026, there will be timed 50m events. All in all, it should be a great day, students will wear their house colours, be able to earn points and ribbons and best of all have heaps of fun.

***Further information will be sent out via a PAM note.

***We will require some parent helpers to time each lane, if you are able to assist, please email me at tcoates@hrwhitehills.catholic.edu.au

  • Colour Run (Friday) - obstacle course, sprinklers, sliming the teachers and loads of fun.
  • Staff v Grade 6 Match (Friday) - the final game this year will be a hockey match up on the courts.

We will send out the schedule of activities to teachers to share with their class. Thank you to our wonderful grade 6 leaders who help organise and run these events. It is a great way to finish a very busy year.

ESSENDON AFL PLAYERS VISIT - WEEK 10

We look forward to welcoming some of the Essendon AFL players to Holy Rosary on Thursday 11th December (Week 10). Students in grades 3 -6 will get the opportunity to ask questions and find out more about the players from 10:30-11am. Then the players will be on the oval for the first 15 minutes of play time to have kick to kick and chat to students from all grades. Students are welcome to bring in Essendon items to be signed.
