with Mr Ben Morgan | Principal (Acting)

Dear Families,

We have had a great term so far at John Paul II Catholic School. One recent highlight was the students’ participation in the Southern Cross Country last week at the Police Academy. It was great to see our students pushing themselves and trying their best.

A focus for the remainder of this term is positive attitudes at lunchtime. We are so lucky to have such a great staff in the Little Dove Cafe who are passionate about feeding our students nutritious lunches. We are always encouraging students to try new things and ‘have a go’ at vegetables that they may not like yet. Jamie Oliver believes it can take 30 times for a fussy eater to start to enjoy a new vegetable so we are glad to be able to assist through our lunch program. This is strengthened by our gardening, cooking and sustainability projects. Thank you to Mr Brighella for his work in securing two significant grants to help keep these programs alive. You can find further information about these grants in the Sustainability in Action section. Along with trying new things, we are focusing on using manners, sitting down and having a great conversation with those around us while eating.

Staffing news:

  • We wish Andrea Watt all the best as she takes up a position at St James Catholic College in Cygnet for the remainder of 2024. We welcome Cassie Prenter who will commence in Term 3.
  • We wish John Hallsworth a speedy recovery from a recent shoulder injury. We thank you for your patience and understanding while we find a replacement for our morning/afternoon bus runs and excursions.
