Year 5/6 Basketball

Congratulations to those students who represented our school at the MDPSSA Basketball Lightning Premiership on Friday 15th August. 

The children travelled to Jubilee Park Basketball Stadium and competed against other schools from our district in a round robin competition. Both teams had been training hard together at lunchtimes and during sport. We were even lucky enough to be coached by Tahlia & Molly from Western Port Basketball Club. 

The Baxter girls' team had a fun day playing against some very experienced teams. They learnt a lot along the way and by the end of the day, they were really starting to get the hang of how to move the ball successfully down the court. 

The Baxter boys' team came away with a draw and many convincing wins for the day. They had the opportunity to display some of their impressive skills and won the day overall for the C grade boys, bringing home the trophy!

The students all played well together and further developed their teamwork skills with each game. We would like to thank our ES coaches, Lacey & Kye, for their team management on the day. 

Thank you also to those parents who came along to score and to support the students, on the day. Most of all a very big thank you to Ms Evans for overseeing the smooth running of our games on the day. Well done everyone!
