Year 10 students have been introduced to career literacy while learning about work independence, occupations, and OH&S in the workplace. Students will soon complete the online ‘A Job Well Done.’ This is an Education Department requirement that shows student’s workplace OH&S understanding.

Year 11’s are continuing with certificates in Workplace Skills, Screen & Media, Cooking and Horticulture. These courses are a wonderful opportunity for students to gain industry training. It is possible that not all students will pass every unit of work, however, the units students pass may be transferred under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and possibly used for similar studies.

Year 12s are working towards completing their secondary education and will soon transition away from high school into employment services, educational pathways, or day services. Students need their NDIS/SLES and in some instances the Disability Support Pension (DSP) to access post school services.

Students will see various garden designs, name plant species, and watch Horticulturists in action. This excursion will give students an opportunity to see a variety of plants, flowers, shrubs, grasses and trees, ask questions and connect classroom theory to real life.
