Principal Report

Dear Families,

Winter didn’t take long to let us know it had arrived! It was fabulous to see so many of our children in coats and hats, ready to go outside at recess and lunch. A reminder to all families that, unless it is pouring with rain, we will go outside for our breaks whenever possible.

Assessment, Reporting and Interviews

This week, our staff completed a report-writing day. It has been great to speak to staff about the progress our students have made. Staff are also busy putting together the learning portfolios for students; these are a chance for you to celebrate this semester's learning. This year's reports will be sent home via Sentral on Tuesday, 23rd June. On the same day, students will bring their portfolios, which are due back at the beginning of Term 3. The last piece of the assessment and reporting period is the Student Led Conferences, which will take place on Wednesday, 24th June. Students are to attend the interviews with their parents.

Reconciliation Week

This week, we celebrated Reconciliation Week at Dana Street Primary School. Our students all completed artwork celebrating the theme of “All In” and discussed the importance of everyone contributing to a respectful and inclusive Australia. Come and see the display in the corridor of the main building.

Parent Survey

Earlier this week, a Parent Survey was sent out via Sentral. Thank you to the families who have already completed it. It covered a range of topics including Fundraising, Volunteering and Communication. We hope as many families as possible will complete the survey to help us understand the needs of the school community. The survey link is available here and shouldn’t take more than 10 minutes to complete. We thank you for your feedback.

Attitudes to School Survey

This week, we have been working with the Year 4-6 students to complete the Attitudes to School Survey. This is one of three surveys conducted each year, but different stakeholders in our community. The data collected includes how students feel about their schools, their learning, peer relationships, resilience, bullying, health and wellbeing, physical activity, and life in general.

We hope that all families have a great long weekend, and we look forward to seeing students back on Tuesday.

Have a wonderful week,

Helen
