Year 5 Camp

This week, our Year 5 students embarked on their two-night experience at the College’s camp site, Camp Kelly. There had been much anticipation and excitement across the cohort in the lead up to camp, and it did not disappoint. This two-night adventure provided our Year 5 students with many memorable experiences filled with challenge, discovery, and personal growth.

Tuesday morning, as the bus departed, we observed a mixture of nervous energy and joyful anticipation, not just from the students, but from the parents too! Camp is a unique opportunity for our boys to step away from their familiar routines and embrace new experiences that will help shape their character. 

Over the three days, students were immersed in activities designed to foster resilience, teamwork, and leadership. Whether it's navigating through outdoor challenges, flat water rafting, working together to build a Bush Shelter, or solving problems during group tasks, each moment encouraged the boys to persist through difficulties, support their peers, and lead with humility, empathy and confidence. 

In today’s educational landscape, school camps are becoming less common, but at Trinity, we continue to champion their value. Camps remain an important part of our Character and Formation program, providing a platform for students to develop independence, strengthen relationships, and grow into capable, compassionate leaders. These experiences help our boys become more self-aware, develop empathy and assist them to be better equipped to face future challenges, both in and out of the classroom.

We are incredibly grateful to the dedicated staff who accompanied our students, generously giving their time and energy to create a safe, supportive, and enriching camp environment. Their guidance and encouragement helped each boy feel confident to embrace new challenges and reflect on their personal growth. A special thank you to Mrs Allen, Mr Bailey, Mr Penco, Mr Thompson, Ms Byrd, Ms Birmingham, Ms Read, and Mr Black and Mr Holdman, who not only spent time away from their own families but also went above and beyond to ensure this was a positive and memorable experience for every student. 

e-Safety Over Holiday Period  

Once again, as the school holidays are upon us, we sometimes lose the structure and routine at home which is common during term time. I draw your attention to the resources available through The Australian Government  Online safety | eSafety Commissioner which provides useful tips and resources to assist parents and children to have safer and more positive experiences online. By accessing the kids tab, you and your son will be able to find strategies for being safe, curious, kind and secure online. 

To assist parents, all Junior School devices will remain at school during the holiday break. If you require further information regarding advice, cyberbullying or parental controls, please access the parent information section of the Australian Government website.

Wishing all the boys and families a safe and relaxing two weeks. We look forward to seeing everyone back at the College on Monday 12 October, in Summer Uniform ready for Term Four.

Reminder: Aquatics Returns in Term 4

As we return to Aquatics in Term 4, students will no longer be required to wear their PE uniform for Conditioning sessions. Instead, students should bring their Aquatics gear to school on their allocated day, including: 

• TC jammers 

• Goggles 

• Towel 

• Suitable footwear for walking to and from the pool 

• Sunscreen pre-applied before school 

• An optional rash vest for additional sun protection 

Please ensure all items are clearly named. Thank you for your support in helping students come prepared for their Aquatics sessions.

We would also like to remind families that our school Aquatics program is not intended to replace regular staged swimming lessons. While some swimming instruction is included, the program has a broader focus on developing a range of aquatic skills, including water safety, fitness and conditioning, water-based games and activities such as water polo, as well as confidence and participation in the aquatic environment.

Welcome to Term 4 – Parent Email

As with previous terms, parents can expect to receive a Welcome to Term 4 email from me, towards the end of the holiday break. This email will include the Term 4 Parent Planner including key dates and upcoming events, and important information for the term ahead. Please keep an eye on your inbox around the end of the second week of the holidays.

Term 4 Co-Curricular 

Clipboard Co-curricular Registrations 

As we prepare to open Term 4 co-curricular registrations, we encourage families to ensure they can access the Clipboard platform, which is used to manage both sports and co-curricular activities.

Many parents will already be familiar with Clipboard from previous registrations and sporting commitments. However, if you haven't used the platform recently and require a refresher, guides are available to assist with accessing the Trinity College App, navigating Clipboard, and registering for activities.

Within Clipboard, families can view activities by team or group, or through the calendar view, making it easy to keep track of schedules, training sessions, and co-curricular commitments.

Parents can access Clipboard through the Trinity College App using their parent account credentials.

• Clipboard Activity Selection Guide – Step-by-step instructions for viewing, selecting, and registering for activities. 

Please note that registrations will open on Friday 25 September. A reminder will be sent via Seesaw to all families at that time.
