Principal's Message

Finishing Term Three with Pride

As we reach the end of another busy and rewarding term, there is so much to celebrate at Launching Place Primary School. Across the past ten weeks, our students have continued to grow as learners, strengthen their friendships and embrace the many opportunities available to them.

From the excitement of camp and the Fairytale Ball to 'Dads and Mates' breakfasts, performances and special activity days, Term Three has reflected the warmth, energy and strong sense of belonging that make our school so special. I have been particularly proud of the way our students have participated, encouraged one another and represented our school.

Our recent school review also gave us an important opportunity to reflect on how far we have come and to begin shaping the next stage of our improvement journey. We look forward to sharing more about our new School Strategic Plan with families in Term Four.

These achievements and experiences do not happen without an enormous collective effort. Thank you to our dedicated staff, generous volunteers and supportive families for everything you have contributed throughout the term. As we head into the holidays, I hope every family has an opportunity to slow down, recharge and enjoy some valuable time together.

Fairytale Ball and Plays

Our Year 1/2 Fairytale Ball and class performances were a wonderful celebration of creativity, confidence and learning. It was lovely to see the excitement on the students’ faces as they shared their work and enjoyed the occasion together.

A very special thank you to Meg and Jess for the time, energy and care they put into organising this memorable experience. We were also delighted to see so many families joining us, including some new faces volunteering and helping on the day. Your involvement made the event even more special for our students.

Year 3/4 Camp

Our Year 3/4 students had a fantastic time at camp, demonstrating independence, resilience and a willingness to try new things. Camp provides students with valuable opportunities to build friendships, develop confidence and experience success beyond the classroom.

Thank you to Brydie, Chandra and Makayla for giving their time and energy to ensure our students had such a safe, positive and memorable experience. We also thank our families for supporting the students to take part in this important opportunity.

Dads and Mates Breakfast

It was wonderful to welcome so many dads, grandfathers, carers, family members and special friends to our Dads and Mates Breakfast. Events such as this strengthen the connection between our school and community and create special memories for our students.

Thank you to everyone who attended and to the staff and volunteers who helped make the morning such a success.

Footy Day

Our Footy Day brought plenty of colour, enthusiasm and team spirit to Launching Place Primary School today. Students enjoyed wearing their favourite team colours and participating in a presentation from Flynn Kroeger about helmet safety and looking after our brains.

Thank you to everyone who helped organise the day and joined in the fun. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the final week of term.

Learning and Growing Together

While Term Three has included many exciting events, our central focus has remained firmly on learning.

Across the school, students have continued to strengthen their reading, writing and mathematics skills through clear teaching, purposeful practice and individual learning goals. Our teachers have worked collaboratively to examine student progress and refine their teaching so that every learner is known, supported and appropriately challenged.

We have also continued to encourage students to demonstrate persistence, embrace challenges and understand the power of “yet.” Learning does not always happen immediately, but with effort, support and the right strategies, every student can continue to grow.

Thank You to Our Community

As the term concludes, I would like to acknowledge everyone who contributes to making Launching Place Primary School such a positive and connected community.

Thank you to our teaching and education support staff for their care, professionalism and commitment to our students. Thank you to our School Council and P&F members, parent helpers and community volunteers for generously contributing their time and ideas.

We also acknowledge those who support Breakfast Club, Homework Club, excursions, camps, classroom activities and school events. Every contribution large or small, makes a meaningful difference to our students.

Finally, thank you to our students. We are proud of the effort, kindness, resilience and enthusiasm you have shown throughout the term.

Parent Opinion Survey

There is still time for eligible families to complete the Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey. Your feedback helps us understand what we are doing well and where we can continue to improve.

Visit the Compass news feed page for the link and sign in details.

Thank you to everyone who has already taken the time to participate.
