Wow, what a fabulous term of learning we have had!
This term, our students have been exploring the world around them, starting from their own homes and streets, moving out to their State and Country, and even learning a fun song about the seven continents. The Preps were amazed to discover that Australia is extra special because it is both a Country and a Continent.
In Literacy, students have been thriving in phonics, learning new digraphs, vowel teams, and even a trigraph! With so much great learning happening, it was especially tricky for teachers to choose a Heggerty Hero each day.
In Maths, our focus has been on teen numbers and exploring different strategies for adding and subtracting within 10. Students used a range of tools including blocks, counters, pictures, and number lines to build their confidence and deepen their understanding.
Over the holidays, don’t forget to keep reading together. You might even like to write in your homework book about something special you did during the break.
We hope you have a safe and happy two-week holiday, and we can’t wait to see everyone back in Term 4, ready for more exciting learning!

WOW!
Can you believe we are in November already? This term started with a Spook-tacular BANG!!!
The Preps loved visiting Mrs Newell Halloween music room and dancing the morning away at the ‘Little Scarers Disco!’ Students looked amazing in their costumes from witches to zombies and even a fairy or two. It was a great day!
Best day ever- James Prep C
In Maths the students have been learning about capacity. The Prep explored capacity using both sand and water. Students went out to the sand pit to fill and empty different containers. Students explored language like full, empty, half full, holds more, hold less and holds the same.
The Preps are excited for the upcoming incursion about toys over time and can’t wait to play with a range of toys from history.
