Mission Fundraiser
While the Year 10 students going on mission are still four weeks away from departing our shores for their trips to Thailand and Vanuatu, they were certainly busy this week baking cookies, hedgehog slices, cupcakes and many other sweet delights for Tuesday’s Baked Goods Sale, as well as cooking up a storm on the barbeque to feed the hungry masses during Friday’s Sausage Sizzle Day.
Going on mission involves our Year 10 teams embedding themselves in local communities and working with people carrying out outreach work in these areas. In order to support the important work being done by Christian churches overseas, our mission teams felt it was important to not just offer themselves to serve on the ground but also raise funds that will be used in tangible and meaningful ways by the communities these teams will visit.
In this regard, both mission teams would like to wholeheartedly thank the entire Plenty Valley community for getting behind their worthy goal to raise funds to be used overseas by contributing their gold coins during Friday’s out-of-uniform day in the secondary school and for being so generous while purchasing the sweet treats and sausages.
The funds really will make a difference in the lives of people overseas that most in our school community will likely never meet. But this distance surely matters not, because as the apostle Paul says, “There is one body and one Spirit …” (Eph. 4:4). All true Christians are part of this body, God’s church, and so our efforts are part of God’s mission to proclaim His gospel message wherever the Spirit of God is at work in our wide world. So, thank you again, for all you have done to support the endeavours of these brave Year 10 students.
Alumni, have you booked your tickets!
It’s that fun time of year again when we get to reconnect with past students and celebrate their time at PVCC!
This year we’re hosting our 5, 10, 20 and 30 Year Reunion, welcoming graduates from the classes of 2021, 2016, 2006 and 1996.
It’s hard to believe that five years have passed since the “flatten the curve” days, when many of these students experienced a very different end to their final year. All the more reason to bring them back, celebrate their achievements, and reflect on their time here at PVCC.
Event details:
- Date: Saturday, 31 May
- Time: 3:45pm – 6:00pm
- Location: Main Staffroom at PVCC
- Catering: Barista coffee cart and delicious afternoon tea provided
- Cost: Free (tickets required for catering purposes)
- Guests: Partners and young children are welcome
How you can help: We’re currently promoting the event across our social media channels and ticket numbers are growing—which is fantastic! However, we’d really appreciate your support in spreading the word. If you’re in contact with past students or families from these year levels, please encourage them to register.
These reunions are always a highlight. Past attendees have loved the opportunity to reconnect with friends, revisit yearbooks, and take a walk around the school to relive their memories. It’s a genuinely special afternoon.
