Welcome message

Dear Melba Community,
Welcome to the final week of Term 2, 2026. This edition of the Senior Sub School bulletin includes reminders for the end of Semester 1 and start of Semester 2. You will also find information regarding key dates for Semester 2, upcoming events, recent highlights, and important reminders.
VM students (and VCE students enrolled in a VET subject) are reminded to check with their TAFE regarding class schedules, as VET courses may continue to run during term breaks. Students undertaking an SBAT will need to ensure that they are aware of block VET dates where relevant.
VCE students are reminded to ensure that they have a plan for completion of set homework tasks. As your Sub School leaders, we would recommend that you create a timetable for completing your work in the first week of the break, and give yourself a break from schoolwork in the second half of your term break.
Please also remember that significant disruptions and changes to your sleep times, mealtimes and other habits will make it harder for you to get back into the swing of things. There is nothing wrong with having a sleep-in, and waking up an hour or two past your usual time – but moderation is key. Try to maintain as much continuity as possible.
On the last day of term (Friday 26 June) students will be dismissed from school at 2:30pm. VM students will of course finish the term on Thursday 25 June at the usual time, 3:00pm, as they do not have timetabled classes on Fridays.
Please note that students will return to school on Tuesday 14th July, as the Monday is a curriculum day for Melba College staff.
As always, please do not hesitate to contact the Senior Sub School team if you have any questions.
Kind regards,
Senior Sub School Team
