SchoolVision - To empower students to shape and enrich the world around them.
Welcome to the first Barwon Heads Primary School newsletter for Term Two. It has already been a busy start to the term with excursions, cross country and Anzac Day commemorations.
SCHOOL CAPTAINS
It has been a big week or two for our 4 School Captains. They opened our recent 2025 Prep Information Night, laid a wreath and read poems at the Barwon Heads Anzac Day Service (pictured above) and attended a leadership conference. We thank them for their commitment to going above and beyond in their leadership roles for the school, often outside of school hours.
FUNDRAISING
In addition to the iPads that were recently purchase for the Prep-2 students, we have now ordered a suite of new Chromebook devices for our Year 3-6 students. We would not be able to provide these learning tools for students without the great work of our committed fundraising team and for all of the families who support our fundraising events.
CROSS COUNTRY
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Bunjil District Cross Country event. Barwon Heads Primary School won the event and we have 26 students who have progressed to the 3rd level of competition.
SCHOOL REVIEW PARENT FORUM
Our school review commences this month which will be an exciting opportunity to celebrate our achievements from the last 4 years, whilst reflecting and setting our school improvement agenda for the future. As well as the opportunity to take part in the recent parent survey, there will also be an in-person parent forum. We will provide exact details as they become available.
MOTHER'S DAY STALL
A reminder that our Mother's Day Stall is on Thursday 9th May. There will be another opportunity on Friday 10th May during lunchtime and after school for students to make additional purchases. Please keep in mind, the stall is not just for mothers. Students can purchase for any significant females in their life.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
Next Wednesday's school council meeting commences with an AGM at 5:30pm. There is an open invite for all families to attend. At the meeting, I will be presenting our Annual Report from 2023. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions afterwards. The meeting will take place in the open indoor area just outside the Year 3/4 classrooms. Our standard school council meeting will then commence at 6pm.
We hope you enjoy perusing the pages of our school newsletter.
Thank you,
