Weekly Values Focus

This week's values focus:
Week 4: Footscray West students are kind
Being kind is a choice. It’s a choice to be friendly, generous, and considerate towards others, without expecting anything in return. It means caring about how our actions impact others and making the choice to act in a way that helps. We can show kindness in many small ways, like sharing our things, helping someone who is stuck, or letting a classmate go first. It’s the small things we do every day that show how kind we can be.
We also show kindness in the way we speak to others. We should always use a kind tone in a voice with thoughtful words when talking with our friends, our teachers, and people in the community. This helps everyone to feel valued. Even a simple “thank you,” “are you okay?” or “good job” can make someone’s day brighter.
This week, have a think about how you show kindness and ask yourself: “Am I speaking kindly? Am I looking out for others? Am I caring and sharing in a way that makes people feel good?” You will be surprised at what a difference these small acts of kindness make, and how they help everyone at Footscray West feel cared for and respected.
