Year 12 Camp
Melbourne 2nd to 4th February

MELBOURNE CAMP
During our second week back at school, Monday 2nd through to Wednesday 4th February, our year 12 cohort was lucky enough to be able to travel down to Melbourne for our last high school camp.
The bittersweet experience was centred around exploring options for our future, including TAFE, universities, and job opportunities. While VCE students toured The University of Melbourne, La Trobe University, Deakin University, and RMIT, the VM students toured the MCG and RMIT TAFE. These tours allowed us to view campuses and accommodations as well as grasp an understanding of what course, pathway or job we may want to pursue in the coming years.
Between investigating our future endeavours, we got the chance to see the city and all it has to offer, taking part in activities such as bowling, go-kart racing, shopping, and the Amazing Race that led us to explore some of Melbourne's landmarks.
Tuesday night offered us two motivational speeches, one providing us with advice on how to navigate our year 12 journey, while the other was an emotional and honest conversation that encouraged us to bond and become closer as a year level.
Before departing on Wednesday, we got a tour around the Port of Melbourne, learning about Australia's largest containerised and general cargo port, as well as seeing all the opportunities for part-time and full-time work the Port had to offer. Overall, the camp was an eye-opening experience and a very fun start to our very busy and exciting year.
Thank you to all the teachers for arranging this great opportunity.
