The Aqua Aware Swimming Program is well underway and it has been pleasing to hear great reports of learning and enjoyable activities taking place within the lessons. It was wonderful to observe the program in action this week. Well done students!

Our F-2 students attended the District Schools Kickball Sports Day on Friday 7th November. They had a wonderful day in the warm weather, applying their kicking skills and their kickball game team work they had been working on during Health and PE sessions. Our students demonstrated great enthusiasm, determination and resilience! Over the past two weeks, students have been practising and refining many fundamental motor skills including running, jumping, throwing, catching and ball bouncing through obstacle courses and small group relays.

Our 3-6 students have been learning the skills involved in Newcomb Ball (pre-volleyball) as well as Volleyball. It has been rewarding observing the students’ willingness to try a new sport, their effort to develop some of the skills involved and their terrific team work. The volleyball court has been a popular break time area this week with lots of fun, cheering and laughter taking place. The giant volleyball we sourced has been a hit!

It was fun this week enjoying a skipping warm up!

Volleyball in action!
Over the next two weeks all classes will be focusing on Athletics in preparation for our annual School Athletics Sports Day. This will take place on Friday 5th December and is a highlight of the year as we come together in our house colours to engage in different athletic activities, striving to achieve our best and fostering great team spirit! Families are invited to attend this day to enjoy watching the students participate and are welcome to share in a picnic lunch with us. The day will run from 9am through until lunch time at 1:30pm.
