Year One - Holy Thursday Art

I had the pleasure of being invited into the Year One classrooms to view their artworks based on the Last Supper on Holy Thursday. The students had listened to the scripture passage, viewed other artists interpretations of the Last Supper and had discussed what it would have been like to have been there as one of the twelve apostles. Here are some of our budding artists in Year One with their artistic interpretations of the Last Supper.

Caritas - Holy Week

This year, we shared with you the story of three inspiring women from across the globe, who overcame challenges to complete their education, access water and find secure employment. With the support of compassionate people like you, they are now forging a path to a better future for their families and their communities.

Ronita from the Philippines has now graduated high school and secured a job at a call centre. This job was only possible because of a certificate she gained from completing her studies.

Leaia and her family now have a water tank at their home in Samoa. She and her family now have a steady supply of clean drinking water. Next year, they will also have a toilet built, with the support of Caritas Samoa, which will further improve their health and living conditions.

Memory completed her vocational training course in carpentry and joinery. After completing a work contract at one of the largest electrical companies in Malawi, Memory now plans to return to her village and provide carpentry services to people in her community.

It’s through the generosity of people like you that we can continue to support people like Ronita, Leaia and Memory.

Please donate generously to Caritas Australia this Lenten season. You can donate via the QR Code which links to the Holy Trinity Project Compassion donations. Each class also has a Project Compassion box which students are donating money to.

Crazy Hair Day Success!

Last Friday HTS students got creative with their hair for 'Crazy Hair Day' to raise money for Project Compassion. Students and staff had a range of different hair styles full of colour, bows and lots of hairspray! Well done for everyone on this fun day! We raised an amazing $658.60! This money will go toward our Project Compassion collection for the season of Lent which is over $1600! Well done and thank you HTS!

Easter Mass Times

Why do we have so many ceremonies at Easter?

The Easter Triduum refers to the three key days in the church’s calendar which together express the central mystery of our Christian faith, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It begins with Holy Thursday as we focus on Jesus’ farewell words and deeds at the Last Supper. Then we ponder the events of Jesus’ suffering and death on Good Friday. The climax of the Triduum is Holy Saturday when we celebrate the liberation of humankind through Christ's resurrection. This three part sequence of worship allows us to take in an enormous mystery in small, manageable pieces to relate to various facets of our own lives - the joys, sorrows, successes, and failures. Of all the Church’s celebrations throughout the year, the Easter Triduum is considered the highpoint.

Happy Easter!

As we approach the Easter season this weekend, may our hearts be filled with joy and gratitude for the blessings that surround us. Easter is a time of renewal, hope, faith, and love, reminding us of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

As we gather with our loved ones to celebrate this sacred time, may our hearts be filled with joy and our spirits be uplifted by the promise of redemption and eternal life. Let us embrace the spirit of forgiveness and compassion, reaching out to one another with kindness and understanding.

May the blessings of Easter fill your home with peace, love, and happiness. Wishing you all a blessed and meaningful Easter!
