Catholic Education Week:
Next Thursday, 21st May, all 3 Catholic Primary schools will be sharing a Mass together to celebrate Catholic Education Week. After mass, the Grade 6 students from each school will be participating in a session with Andre at One Movement and then having lunch together at the gardens afterwards. This is always a really nice way to celebrate Catholic education and a nice way for the schools’ leaders to collaborate together.
Pentecost:
Pentecost falls on Sunday, 24th May. In the Gospel of John 20:19–23, the disciples are gathered together in fear and uncertainty after the death of Jesus. Into that fear, Jesus enters and offers peace, breathing the Holy Spirit upon them and sending them out with courage and purpose. At Pentecost, we are reminded that the Holy Spirit is not just a gift for the disciples long ago, but a gift for us today. In our Catholic school community, the Spirit calls us to be people of peace, compassion and hope — using our words and actions to bring encouragement, forgiveness and kindness to others. Just as the disciples were empowered to continue Jesus’ mission, we too are invited to live boldly as witnesses of God’s love in our classrooms, families and wider community.
Sacraments:
On Tuesday, 12th May, sacramental meetings were held at the church with Fr. Andrew. If you missed either of these meetings but are still wanting your child/children to celebrate sacraments this year, you will need to contact the parish office for more information. Anyone who is needing support, clarification, guidance etc with completing any part of the ‘Live Your Christian Life’ Sacramental program, can contact me and I’ll do my best to assist you.
