R U OK? Day

In Week 8 of Term 3, our school came together to celebrate R U OK? Day and raise awareness about the importance of checking in on one another.
We had a special surprise pancake breakfast at Breakfast Club on Wednesday morning. Students and staff enjoyed a delicious start to the day while connecting with each other over breakfast. A big thank you to the MGC Parents’ Association for making our pancake breakfast possible and bringing our school community together!
Our Year 9 students took their City Experience to the next level by creating colourful bunting, which they proudly displayed around the Victoria University campus, spreading the R U OK? message beyond our school gates.
On Thursday, the school community brightened the day with a splash of yellow, with ribbons handed out at the school gates. It was fantastic to see so many students and staff wearing their ribbons proudly in their hair, pinned to uniforms or tied onto bags.
A huge highlight of the week was the R U OK? Day Bake Sale, which raised over $300. Thank you to everyone who baked such delicious treats and to those who supported by purchasing goodies.
Throughout the week, Home Group and Wellbeing classes provided opportunities for students to engage in R U OK? themed activities, including colouring, conversation prompts, and word searches, all designed to spark meaningful conversations.
Thank you to everyone who got involved to make R U OK? Day such a success. Let’s remember: it’s not just about asking “R U OK?” once a year but making the time to check in with those around us any day of the year.
