End of Term Newsletter – Principal’s Message

As we come to the end of another busy and rewarding term, I would like to sincerely thank our entire school community for your ongoing support. It has been a wonderful term of learning, growth and connection, and I am incredibly proud of our students and staff. I wish all families a safe, restful and happy Easter break.

Thank You – Acting Principal

A very special thank you to Mrs Woodly, who stepped into the role of Acting Principal while I was recently on leave. She did an outstanding job leading the school, and I am very grateful for her dedication, professionalism and care for our community during that time.

New P&C Executive

Our P&C recently held their Annual General Meeting, and I am pleased to announce our new executive team:

  • President: Michael Metcalfe
  • Vice President: Lorna Andrews
  • Secretary: Michelle Pipino
  • Treasurer: Lizzy Upton

We look forward to working closely with our new P&C executive to continue supporting our school.

I would also like to extend our sincere thanks to our outgoing executive members, Paul Gray and Nicole Varian, for their outstanding contributions and commitment to our P&C. Their efforts have made a meaningful difference to our school.

Tree Removal

As previously communicated, the large fig tree near the library will be removed over the holiday period. This is necessary due to the roots causing damage to school infrastructure. We appreciate your understanding as we undertake this important work to maintain a safe and sustainable environment.

Cross Country

Yesterday we held another successful Cross-Country event, with both junior and senior students participating. Congratulations to all students for their effort, determination and excellent sportsmanship.

A big thank you to our student house captains for their fantastic leadership on the day, and to Mr Locke and Miss B for their organisation. Special thanks also to Mr Pete for his work in preparing the track.

We were delighted to see so many parents in attendance—your support and encouragement make these events so special and highlight the strength of our school community.

Community Safety – Parking

Today I am meeting with the Gold Coast City Council to discuss strategies to address the significant increase in illegal parking around our school, particularly in and around our Kiss and Go zone, which has become a growing safety concern. Ensuring safe and efficient pick-up and drop-off processes for our students remains a priority, and we are committed to working collaboratively to improve this situation.

I would like to thank Councillor Josh Martin for his ongoing support of our school and for prioritising student safety within our community.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back, refreshed and ready for another great term, on Monday 20 April.

Wishing you all a safe and happy Easter.

Kind regards

Scott
