Dear Armstrong Creek School Community,

As we reach the end of Term 1, I would like to take a moment to celebrate the many achievements across our school and acknowledge the collective efforts of our students, staff and families. It has been a busy and productive start to the year, with many opportunities for learning, connection and growth.

Congratulations to all of our award recipients. These students have demonstrated a strong commitment to their learning and consistently modelled our school values. Their efforts across the classroom, playground and wider school community are to be commended. We are proud of the persistence, resilience and positive attitudes shown, and we encourage all students to continue striving for their personal best.

Well done to our School Captains for confidently leading our whole school assembly. They represented our student body with pride, demonstrating strong leadership and communication skills. Opportunities such as these continue to build their capacity as student leaders and role models for their peers.

A special shout out to our Year 3 and Year 5 students who recently completed NAPLAN. Students approached the assessment period with focus and maturity, and we acknowledge the effort they put into doing their best. We also thank staff and families for their preparation and support throughout the process, ensuring a calm and organised environment for students.

Thank you to our community for such a welcoming and supportive Term 1. The strong partnership between home and school plays a vital role in supporting student wellbeing and learning. We value the positive communication, engagement in school events, and the collaborative approach that helps make our school a great place for students to thrive.

We also extend our appreciation to our school community for supporting the recent industrial action. Your understanding and flexibility during this time was greatly appreciated, and it reflects the strong sense of partnership within our community.

Reminder: Our regular end of the school day is 3:10pm. Please ensure students are collected promptly at this time, or that appropriate after-school arrangements are in place.

Additionally, on Thursday 2nd April, students will finish early at 2:30pm. This early dismissal supports end-of-term organisation and planning. Families are encouraged to make note of this adjusted time and plan accordingly.

At the end of this term we say farewell to Martin, one of our amazing Education Support staff members in our Secondary team. Martin will be retiring, thanks Martin for all that you have contributed at ACS, wishing you all the very best in retirement.

We also say farewell to Aaron Brady, another wonderful Education Support staff member, Aaron has worked across the school. Thank you Aaron for your contribution, the staff and students wish you well with your future endeavours.

A further, not quite farewell goes to Alannah, who is heading off to continue her education support work at Roslyn Primary School until the end of the year, we wish Alannah all the best and look forward to her return to ACS.

Wishing everyone a safe and wonderful school break. We hope students enjoy a well-earned rest, spend time with family and friends, and return refreshed for the start of Term 2.

We look forward to a productive and exciting Term 2, with many opportunities for continued learning and engagement across our school community.
