PRINCIPAL UPDATE

Congratulations on another amazing afternoon of COLOUR at our Colour Run. The students all had a wonderful afternoon, with lots of laughs along the way. Thank you to Elise and the House Captains for organising this. With these funds raised in addition to the final Fair funds we have finalised the plans for the refurbishment of the front sandpits, lawn, sprinkler system and additions to the front of the school.
Our Grade 6 campers returned Friday after a hectic couple of days in the Yarra Valley, undertaking outdoor activities, visiting the Chocolaterie in Healesville and having loads of fun in general. Thank you to the Grade 6 staff Cassie, Steph, Louisa, Jenny and Lachie for all of their efforts in organising this event and attendance. In addition to this, thank you to parents Linley, Gen, Ben, Roger, Tom, and student teacher Beth for volunteering your time.
We are sure the Preps enjoyed their trip to the Werribee Zoo today and look forward to hearing all about this.
Congratulations to William M (Grade 6) who placed 3rd in the State Gymnastics Championships held over the weekend. An amazing effort.
Can we please ask any families that are moving on next year to please ensure they inform the office via Chilwell.ps@education.vic.gov.au as soon as possible. This information is vital in our planning of classes and managing our enrolment numbers.
As you are aware from my yearly emails at this time, many factors are considered in the placement of students into classes including, but not limited to, the individual’s academic and social learning. If you believe you have specific considerations that need to be taken into account, please put this in writing to me at Chilwell.ps@education.vic.gov.au no later than 4pm on Friday October 23rd. We will not be accepting any further emails from this date or after grades are announced.
These are considerations only and the outcome is NOT guaranteed. We use multiple sources of information when developing classes and a great deal of factors are considered. There will be no individual classroom teacher or student requests accepted.
Please don’t forget to book your place at the Engagement, Wellbeing and Inclusion information sessions to be held on the 28th October. Information is in the newsletter about this event, and previous invites have been sent. This is a great opportunity to hear all about the resources and supports we have in place and available here at school. Please RSVP if you plan on attending: https://forms.gle/pL9ZL6cww9ajm1un9
Thank you so much to the community members that informed some teenagers to move on last weekend who were on E Bikes and E Scooters on our school grounds, along with contacting the Office this week to express their concerns. By bringing this to our attention we were able to identify the individuals via CCTV, contact local secondary schools to follow this up with them and their families. Being able to action this promptly reinforces to the wider community that if accessing our school grounds we expect all to be respectful and use our facilities appropriately.
Have a great week all.
Kind regards,
Meg
