Week 2

Welcome back to another busy term. This week is a quieter week of extra curricular activities and we look forward to holding our first assembly on Friday at 12:30pm in the hall. The Possums will be presenting their item.

Just a reminder that morning drop off needs to be after 8:15am and supervision is not until 8:30am. Thank you for understanding and adherence.

Inquiring Minds

Last term, several Stage 3 students attended the Inquiring Minds HPGE camp.  Inquiring Minds is a series of courses for high potential students in Years 5-6  in the New England area. Our students got to work with expert mentors in a specialist field of interest while at camp. Aiden, Emalie, Addie, Nicholas, Ollie, Jai and Oliver thoroughly enjoyed the camp and learnt lots about their area of talent.

Cross Country Wrap up

We had a fabulous day on Friday at Cross Country.  Everybody gave it their best and so many students were very happy with their personal best results.  Congratulations!

The first six students will now proceed to the PSSA Cross Country to be held at Sport UNE on May 15, 2026.

Anzac Day

On Saturday, we participated in the Armidale ANZAC ceremonies, honouring the service and sacrifice of those who have served and are serving our country.

It was so wonderful to see so many members of our community come together to take part in these important commemorations.

Congratulations Ollie, Lucy and Nixon who participated in the NSW PSSA State Swimming Championships yesterday.

Nixon, Ollie and Lucy both achieved personal best times in their 50m freestyle.

Well done to you all.

NSW Public Schools Parent Survey.

In Term 2, we are inviting parents and carers to participate in the NSW Public Schools Parent Survey. The survey gives you the opportunity to share your experience at our school, including communication, inclusion, wellbeing and how your child’s learning is supported.

Hearing directly from our parents and carers will help us understand what’s working well and where improvements can be made. Participation in the survey is optional, your responses are anonymous, and it takes around 10 to 15 minutes to complete. You can access the survey at https://surveyme.education.nsw.gov.au/sc/bGn1-ThDd_SF_QDSgbudEw2

Further information about the NPSS Parent Survey is available at https://education.nsw.gov.au/npss

DISCO and PAX TOOLS WORKSHOP -       WEEK 3

We will be holding a disco for all students K-6 on Wednesday 6th May from 5:30-6:30pm.  Entry is $5 and this includes a packet of chips and a poppa. All money raised will be going to Save Our Sons.

While the kids are at the disco, Mrs Pennington is running a PAX Tools workshop for all parents about using simple strategies to support behaviour and maintain positive relationships at home.  We use the many of the same PAX GBG strategies in our classrooms each day.

The workshop will be held on Wednesday 6th May from 5:30-6:30pm in the Stage 1 Magpies classroom. Please contact Felicity Pennington via the school office if you have any questions about the PAX Tools parent workshop. We look forward to seeing you.

Three Way conferences and parent interviews

In week 4, parents and carers are invited to attend three way conferences/parent interviews with their child's teacher.  Bookings can be made through School Bytes.

What is a 3 Way Conference?

A 3-Way Conference actively involves parents, students (Yrs 3-6) and teachers in reflecting on student progress and setting future goals/targets.

A 3-Way Conference acknowledges the most important participants in the learning process - student, teacher and parent.

3 Way Conferences take time (10 minutes), and to ensure that all parents and students have the opportunity to meet with their class teacher, please choose an interview time from the availability lists for each class teacher which you will find open in School Bytes on Monday 4 May and will close Friday 8 May or alternatively phone conferences are also an option.

Have a great week.
