Principal's Report

Term 1, Week 5

Dear St FX Parents and Carers,

Welcome to Week 5! A lot has happened so far this term and it’s affirming to see how quickly the students have settled into their new routines. I especially want to acknowledge the Kindergarten students who have had a tremendous start to their schooling journey. The way they bounce into school each morning with wide smiles and a calm demeanor is both a credit to you - their parents and first educators - and our dedicated staff, who create a welcoming and calm learning environment each and every day. The first few weeks of Kindergarten (or any class, to be fair) can be more stressful than later in the term, so in the event that you have any questions about how your child is settling-in this year, please don’t hesitate to check-in with your child’s teacher.

I must say that I also thoroughly enjoy the “good mornings” and “how are you today” that I receive from students and their families each morning. Your smiles and happy dispositions are the highlight of my day!

Monday and Wednesday - Sport

Just a reminder that Jake and Ellie from Platform & Co will be at St FX on Mondays to teach PE lessons.  We also have Netball clinics each Friday for our primary students (Years 3-6). Therefore all students are required to wear their sports uniform on Mondays and Fridays.

2025 St FX Swimming Carnival

A big thank you to our Carnival organisers - Jess and Janelle - who pulled off another successful carnival.  A huge congratulations to all our 2025 age champions! For further details please read our Sport Report!

Family Mass

Thank you to the families who joined us on Saturday evening for our first Family Mass for 2025. It was heartwarming to see all the children celebrating Mass, which was led by Fr Paul. Family Mass is held on the fourth Saturday of each month (during the school terms), so please keep your eyes peeled for dates for our next one!

Leadership Mass

Our Leaders were inducted at our Mass on Monday 24th February. It was a beautiful ceremony which was well attended by parents, families and parishioners. Thank you to Jess Craig, Sonja Leitch, Erica Maslen, Cathy Walters and Emily Quirk along with our REC -Rhonda McInnes for preparing our Year 6 students.

Parents and Friends

Our Welcome BBQ is this Friday 28th February at 5:30pm under the school cola. All families are invited to attend this free event. This is a chance to meet new families and connect with our school community. A BIG thank you in advance for the tireless efforts of our P and F committee who work so hard to provide these community events.

May God bless you,

Mrs Michelle O’Connor
