Principal's News

Dear Families,

Welcome back to term three. We have had a lovely smooth start to the term and it is wonderful to see the children settle into their learning routines so quickly.

I may have caused some confusion in my last newsletter regarding the school production for 2026, so I will clarify some of the details here. Our main, whole school production will take place on Friday 16th October. There will be two shows on the one evening at times to be confirmed. All children will be involved in this spectacular event. Stay tuned for more information. 

In addition to our whole school production, some of the students in years 3 to 6 will present a play of some scenes from Alice in Wonderland on Thursday 17th September in the hall at St Mark's at 2.25 p.m. All the children from St Mark's will be part of the audience and parents are welcome to attend. The children have already started to rehearse for this event and we are looking forward to seeing their work.

I will be taking three days of long service leave next week from 29th - 31st July. My eldest son Aidan, will be performing in the Emmaus College school production - Tarzan,  which means lots of late nights and mum's taxi running hot for final rehearsals and performances. Mr Davies will take the reins, and lead our school as capably as he always does in my absence.

FAREWELL AND GOOD LUCK!

We say farewell and good luck to Deanna Johnson who will leave us (temporarily) on Thursday 30th July to commence maternity leave in preparation for  the birth of her second baby. We wish her and her husband all the very best with their growing family. 

SCHOOL CLOSURE DAY - 25th August 2026:

We have secured Tracey Ezard as our presenter for our term three professional learning day with our staff. Tracey works all over the world with organisations to help grow and develop their professional learning culture and build on collaborative practices to enhance the work of the organisation. Tracey will work with us on Tuesday 25th of August and hence we will have a school closure day that day. Team Kids will run a full day program for families who need care for their children on 25th August.

CHILD SAFETY:

When leaving the school at the end of the day (and when walking into school in the morning) please remember to walk behind the parked cars along the drive way. Please do not walk along the drive way with your children it is not safe to do so.
