House Athletics for Grades 4–6
It has been an exciting week of sport, with students embracing opportunities to participate, represent their Houses, showcase their individual talents, and demonstrate outstanding teamwork.
At our annual Grade 4–6 Athletics Carnival, it was wonderful to see almost every student involved throughout the day. Many students produced outstanding performances across a wide range of track and field events, including the 800m, hurdles, discus, shot put, long jump and triple jump.
Continuing our commitment to providing inclusive opportunities for all students, the Carnival featured both competitive and participation categories. Students had the option to compete for places within their age group or participate in a non-competitive division designed to encourage everyone to have a go, challenge themselves, and contribute to their House.
Every student who participated earned House points, with additional points awarded to placegetters in each event. The enthusiasm, encouragement, and sportsmanship displayed throughout the day highlighted the strong sense of House pride and community spirit across the school.
Thank you to Josh for his organisation and coordination of the Athletics Carnival to ensure the event ran smoothly and provided a positive experience for all students. We also extend our appreciation to parents Jenna Richardson, Madi Trompf and Anna Kimber for their assistance and support on the day.
Divisional Soccer & AFL9s
Our Girls Soccer and AFL9s teams have enjoyed great success at their recent gala days, with both teams progressing through to their respective Divisional Gala Days this week.
Throughout the competitions, both teams experienced a mix of wins, losses and draws but most importantly demonstrated resilience, excellent sportsmanship, and a strong willingness to support and encourage one another.
A big thank you to Daniel for his support and guidance of the Girls Soccer team. We also extend our sincere appreciation to Kate Nicolazzo, Fraser Davies, Lachie and Jenna Richardson, Lisa Weightman, Lachlan McArthur, and Michelle McCorkell for their valuable support with coaching and transporting students to the AFL9s Divisional Gala.
Cold and Flu Season
As we move into the colder months, it is the time of year when sniffles, coughs and seasonal illnesses can affect students, families and staff.
We encourage families to keep children at home when they are genuinely unwell, allowing them the time they need to rest and recover while also helping to minimise the spread of illness throughout the school.
While we know that every day at school is valuable for a child’s learning and progress, this needs to be balanced with the importance of ensuring students return when they are well enough to participate fully in classroom activities.
We appreciate the challenges that managing illness can create for busy families and thank you for your ongoing support, understanding and consideration in helping us maintain a healthy school environment for everyone.
Annual Report to the School Community
Parents and carers are warmly invited to attend our School Community Forum on Friday 31 July, immediately following the school assembly, from approximately 3:05pm to 3:30pm.
This forum provides an opportunity to share an overview of our 2025 Annual Report, including key information about student learning and progress, our school improvement priorities, and the achievements of the past year.

Farewell & Congratulations
This Monday will be Milica's last day with us before she begins maternity leave ahead of welcoming her first child. We know this is such a special and exciting time, and on behalf of the school community we wish Milica all the very best for the months ahead. We hope she enjoys every moment of this new chapter.
We are also delighted to share that Lisa McLeish and her husband, Jonathan, are expecting their second child - a little sister for Harrison. Congratulations to Lisa and Jonathan on this exciting news! We wish them all the very best as they prepare to welcome another member to their growing family.

Dear Bell Community,
As we move through another busy and exciting term, I wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate some wonderful achievements across our school community and share a few important updates.
NAPLAN Results
NAPLAN results have now been mailed home to families. While these reports provide a snapshot of your child's learning at a particular point in time, it is important to remember that they are just one piece of a much bigger picture. Every child learns at their own pace and brings unique strengths to the classroom that cannot always be measured by a single assessment.
We encourage families to celebrate growth, effort and progress rather than focusing solely on achievement bands or comparisons with others. If you have any questions about your child's results, please don't hesitate to speak with their classroom teacher.
As a school, we are extremely pleased with this year's results. They reflect the consistent hard work of our students, the dedication of our staff and the strong partnership we share with our families.
Book Week
We're also looking forward to one of the highlights of the school year as we celebrate Book Week. This year's theme, "Symphony of Stories", celebrates the many voices, ideas and imaginations that come together through reading.
On Monday 24 August, families are warmly invited to join us for our annual Book Week Parade in the school gymnasium at 9:00am. Students are encouraged to come dressed as a favourite fictional character from literature, and we can't wait to see the creativity and enthusiasm on display as we celebrate the joy of reading together.
Grade 4 Bike Education
This week our Grade 4 students have continued their Bike Education program. It has been fantastic to see students developing practical riding skills, road awareness and confidence on their bikes. Living in a busy and growing city, the ability to ride safely is an important life skill. Through this program, students are learning how to navigate different situations safely while building the confidence to become responsible and capable riders in the future. Thank you to our staff who have made this valuable learning experience possible.
