Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers

As I conclude my time relieving at Eglinton Public School, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the incredible dedication and passion our teachers demonstrate every single day. Their unwavering commitment to creating engaging, inclusive, and dynamic learning environments is truly inspiring. The diverse and amazing programs offered at our school provide students with rich opportunities to explore, grow, and achieve their personal best. It is through these innovative approaches that our students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Our students are exceptionally well supported throughout the school day. The front office staff are always welcoming and helpful, creating a positive and caring first point of contact for students and families. In classrooms, our School Learning Support Officers (SLSOs) provide invaluable support, assisting students with their learning and ensuring every child has the help they need to succeed.

This week marks the conclusion of National Bullying Awareness Week, a vital time to reflect on the impact bullying can have on our children. It is essential that we continue to foster awareness beyond this week. Every student deserves a trusted person to connect with and feel safe reporting any concerns. At Eglinton Public School, we remain vigilant and responsive, committed to ensuring that all our students feel secure and supported in their learning journey.

Looking ahead, I am excited to share that next week is Book Week, a wonderful celebration of the joy of reading. This annual event highlights the pleasures and adventures found within books and encourages our students to embrace reading as a lifelong passion.

Thank you to the entire school community for your ongoing support, and it has been my genuine pleasure to be part of this wonderful school. Mrs Carr is due to return on Wednesday.

Our School Chess Team Shines at District Competitions!

We are excited to celebrate the achievements of our school chess team, who have demonstrated skill, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the recent competitions. Last term, our chess team represented our school at the Bathurst District Chess Competition – and emerged as district champions! Their hard work and strategic thinking truly paid off.

As district winners, our team advanced to face Milthorpe Public School, the winners of the Orange District Chess Competition. It was a closely contested match, with both teams demonstrating excellent tactical play. After the first round, the scores were tied at 2 a piece – showing just how evenly matched our teams were.

Round two saw our students try their best in some very close games. While Milthorpe PS came away with the win, our team displayed resilience and teamwork, making us all proud.

We would like to congratulate our chess team on their impressive achievements and thank them for representing our school so well. We look forward to more chess adventures ahead – and to welcoming new players to the team next year!

Student Code of Conduct

The Student Code of Conduct applies to all NSW public school students. It applies to all school activities, both on and off the school site, including online, and how students conduct themselves individually and with other students, teachers, school staff and community members.

Teachers will continue to refer to the Student Code of Conduct throughout Terms 3 and 4 to ensure all students have a clear understanding of the expectations and the positive behaviours that help create a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment.
